Gorton valves are made with five sizes of air outlets. When the correctly sized valve is installed on each radiator, the system is balanced and equalized so as to provide fast, even, comfortable heating in every room. Larger sizes of vapor equalizing valves should be installed on radiators farthest from the boiler and in the coldest rooms. The small sizes are for radiators closer to the boiler and affecting the thermostat. Gorton Air Eliminators install at the end of basement mains to speed up air elimination from the mains. GORTON for every Steam Heating System
Proven dependable in design and construction
Gorton valves are designed to provide a faster venting, and more dependable method of Air Elimination on any Steam Heating System. The non-corrosive bi-metal actuator and brass valve steam assembly are the only two moving parts in the valve.
The Gorton design provides an extra large valve seat opening which permits a maximum volume of air to be rapidly vented from the system. This large air outlet design makes Gorton Vapor Equalizing Valves and Air Eliminators the fastest venting valves made for steam heating system.
The thermostatic bi-metal actuator of the valve reacts instantly on exposure to steam and raises the valve steam into the seat to close the valve. This fast action prevents any loss or escape of steam.
A ground valve seat insures the valve seating perfectly and provides a positive shut-off.
The large capacity of the valve housing and open float design allows the condensate to drain freely from the valve and eliminates any possibility of failure, due to waterlogging.
To insure its dependable and proper operation when installed, each Gorton Valve is tested and checked with live steam before shipment from the factory.
